North West Strategic Growth Partnership 

 

The North West Strategic Growth Partnership is a unique partnership established in 2016 through the North South Ministerial Council that brings together senior Government officials from all Government departments in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to meet with Donegal County Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council to deliver on the strategic priorities aimed at bringing real and positive change for the North West City Region.

The Partnership is jointly led by Donegal County Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council and supported by the International Centre for Local and Regional Development (ICLRD).

 

In addition to the two Council Chief Executives, Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council and the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council and, the chair and co- chair of the North West Regional Development Group, senior officials from all the Government Departments in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland are represented on the Partnership as follows:

NW City region seeing the benefits of collaborative working

The North West City Region is seeing the benefits of the North West Strategic Growth Partnership’s collaboration thanks to its strong focus on investment, growth and prosperity for the region, members were told at their bi-annual meeting.

 

 

Impact of Brexit

Donegal County Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council undertook joint research on the potential impact of Brexit on the North West City Region. 

 

 

Atlas for a City Region 

Centered on the northwest of Ireland, this 18 month long research project investigates how a cross-border city-region can be shaped in light of the economic, political and social realities of Brexit.

Ireland Northwest is an exceptionally well placed investment hub for business and global companies seeking to establish a gateway to both the UK and EU markets.
