Men's & Women's Sheds Community Enhancement Programme

Additional funding of  €0.5m has been allocated nationally to the Communities Enhancement Scheme for small capital grants for Men’s Sheds. The Scheme provides small-scale grants for Men’s Sheds who are affiliated with the Irish Men’s Sheds Association.

Women's Sheds can also apply for this funding.  The criteria for eligibility for Women's Sheds has been set down by the Department of Rural & Community Development as follows:-

  • There must be an appropriate organisational structure to the Shed.
  • The number of members of the group and their level of activity is considered
  • The group should demonstrate that their ethos is consistent with the ethos of the Men's Shed Movement.  Information on this is available on: http@//menssheds.ie/about-us/.
  • If a Women's group is affliated with another parent association (which means they are not a shed) then they will be deemed ineligible.

The Donegal Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) will administer the Scheme on behalf of the Department. Donegal LCDC have been granted a fund of €28,796.00.
