Donegal County Museum will host a lecture on A History of the Apprentice Boys and the Siege of Derry by Mr William Temple on Thursday 16th August at 7.30pm in the County Museum, High Road, Letterkenny.
Mr Willam Temple is a local historian with a particular knowledge of the social and economic history of the Fountain area of Derry. He is a Past President of the Murrary Club Apprentice Boys. The Apprentice Boys Of Derry Society was founded in 1814 and aims to commemorate the 1688-1689 siege of Derry. They have a worldwide membership.
This event has been organised in conjunction with Abhaile Arís under the “Processes of Nation Building” programme which seeks to encourage and enable the building of relationships between all sections of civic society.
