North West Film Archive
The County Archives is pleased to announce that the North West Film Archive is now available for viewing at the County Archives. No appointment is needed to view the Archive which is available in the lobby of the Archives research room, Three Rivers Centre, Lifford, from Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
The North West Film Archive is a unique digital collection of archival material from the counties of Donegal and Derry. It includes 230 items of documentaries, newsreels, television news and drama from the BBC, UTV, RTE and Channel 4, and short films, animation and home movies- some dating back over 50 years.

The Archive has a searchable database, allowing users to locate film by location, date and film maker. The project was produced by a cross border partnership - Donegal County Council Cultural Services and the Nerve Centre and Derry City Council Museum and Archives.

Exhibition at the County Archives
An exhibition of recently deposited or loaned archives is also on display at the County Archives in Lifford, with a wide variety of items on display.

Among the archives currently exhibiting are photographs of young men training for the Great War at Finner Camp in 1914, a concert flier for Market Hall, Glenties, a programme for Loughrossmore Races at Ardara from 1923, 1940 photographs of thatched cottages in west Donegal, photos of the National School at Stranorlar/Ballybofey in 1928; and a photograph of Ballybofey/Stranorlar Players from 1947. The exhibition can be viewed during office hours, Monday to Friday, Archives, Three Rivers Centre, Lifford.

Primary School Pack goes Online
The County Archives’ Primary Schools’ Facsimile Pack has gone online. Teachers and students can download the pack from the County Archives’ Website 
The Archives web pages also now contain updated information and images from the Archives' collections.
