Ballyliffen Beach - Restrictions

On foot of a complaint from a member of the public that the stream entering the Pollan Bay beach, (below the public car park), showed signs of pollution, Donegal Co. Council carried out analysis of samples lifted in the early part of this week, which confirmed raised bacteria levels. It was then decided to rope off the affected area and erecting warning signs, while further investigative work was being carried out to determine the source of the pollution. The beach remains open to the public and the restricted area comprises a very small portion of the total beach area.
