Councils confirm continuation of Ferry Services

Donegal County Council and Limavady Borough Council today, Wednesday 10th June 2009, confirmed that agreement had been reached for the continuation of the Ferry Services on both Lough Swilly and Lough Foyle for the summer 2009 season.

Donegal County Council and Limavady Borough Council have confirmed that the current service on Lough Foyle has been extended to run to the 30th September 2009 ensuring that the peak summer season is covered. Negotiations are ongoing as part of a new tender process with a view to the service being continued on an ongoing basis and the Councils have indicated that they expect this process to be completed in the coming weeks.

Donegal County Council has also confirmed that the seasonal Swilly Service that links Buncrana and Rathmullan will commence from Friday 19th June 2009 and will continue through to Monday 31st August 2009.
