County Mayors Charity Golf Classic

The inaugural County Mayors Charity Golf Classic took place last Thursday, 11th May, 2006 at Donegal Golf Club. Amidst glorious sunshine, County Mayor Dessie Larkin, together with 37 participating teams enjoyed a great days golf. The results are as follows:

At the presentation of prizes, Councillor Larkin expressed his delight at the success of the day and hopes that it will become an annual event. He urged people to support the two charities at every opportunity, namely the Irish Kidney Association and Diabetes Federation of Ireland. He went on to thank all the sponsors and participants for their support, Donegal Golf Club for their marvellous hospitality and the Staff of Donegal County Council who helped organise the event. Finally, he thanked his colleagues, in particular Deputy Niall Blaney and the Blaney family, for their support throughout the year and of course, great thanks to his wife Mary.

Representatives of the beneficiaries expressed their thanks to the Mayor on behalf of their charities – Siobhan Bates, Irish Kidney Association and Danny McDaid, Diabetes Federation of Ireland.
