Holywell Consultancy has been appointed by Donegal County Council (Planning & Economic Development), in partnership with Strabane District Council, to facilitate a process of engagement to assess the impact of the Conflict on the Strabane/Lifford area. This process involves a range of engagement techniques – focus groups, interviews, research analysis and questionnaire.
The end result of the engagement with the local community, and other research elements, will be a report that will be used in partnership by Donegal County Council and Strabane District Council to attract much needed resources to the local area.
Holywell Consultancy is acutely aware that the Conflict of the last 40 years has impacted to some extent on us all. This process is an effort to gauge the impact that the Conflict has had on the areas of Strabane and Lifford and to identify opportunities for social, economic and physical regeneration which facilitates cross border and cross community reconciliation. The research project is being supported by the PEACE III programme managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by the Donegal CDB Peace and Reconciliation Partnership.
Anyone who is interested can have their say in a number of ways. The most straightforward is to complete an online questionnaire available through the websites of both Councils (www.donegalcoco.ie and www.strabanedc.com) and Holywell Consultancy http://www.holywellconsultancy.com/HolywellConsultancy/surveys.html
In addition, a number of focus group sessions which are open to all interested parties to attend, will be held over the next few weeks. This will be a chance for people to share their experiences and opinions with the Holywell Consultancy team. The events will take place on:
