Donegal County Council’s Cultural Services Division presents editor Declan Meade, from The Stinging Fly Press with writers Neil Hegarty and Aiden O’Reilly in a unique evening presentation in Central Library, Letterkenny on Tuesday the 23rd of October 2007 at 8pm.
In an effort to promote Irish writing and publishing to readers and writers all over Ireland, CLÉ – the Irish Book Publishers’ Association, and the Library network are delighted to continue the nationwide Publisher/Author tour with an evening in the Central Library, Letterkenny.
Declan Meade will speak about his career in publishing, the commissioning process – how he decides what books to publish and why – the publishing process and all that is involved: editing, production, marketing, sales, rights, etc., and the ongoing working relationship with the author. Neil Hegarty and Aiden O’Reilly will then speak on their careers as writers, including the commissioning process from the writers’ perspective, that is, how to get published. Both writers will then give a short reading; publisher and authors will take questions from the floor throughout the event. All welcome.
