Donegal Joint Policing Committee held a meeting in the County House, Lifford at 1.30pm on Friday 22nd July 2011. Elected Members, Gardaí and Community representatives attended the meeting.
Regional Traffic Superintendent Ken Brennan provided an overview of traffic management in the County and indicated the success of the GoSafe Programme.
Superintendent O’Brien provided an update on crime figures in the County for the last quarter. Due to the rise in the number of burglaries across the County, he said he would like to get the message out to the public to be vigilant at all times and make sure their property is secure. He urged the public to lock their cars and houses and not to be leaving valuable items where they are visible.
