Do you want to know the best books and the type of books to choose to help your child’s development? If so, the place to be is Central Library, Letterkenny on the 6th of March at 7.00pm, where children’s author and publisher Anna McQuinn will host a workshop for parents and teachers.
Anna McQuinn trained as a teacher and specialises in children’s literature. She has worked in children’s publishing as an editor, writer and publisher for almost 25 years. She has written over 30 picture books which have been published around the world in 17 languages. The needs of children are at the core of her publishing and writing. For more information on Anna and her work check out her website www.annamcquinn.com
The workshop will highlight the importance of reading in a child’s development. Anna will discuss what types of books grasp a child’s imagination and will give advice to parents on how they can encourage their children to read. Don’t miss this great opportunity to meet a children’s author and get advice about helping your child choose books. Anna’s books will be on sale on the night at a reduced rate.
This event is part of the READ LK programme and is free of charge and everyone is welcome. READ LK is a community literacy initiative based on the worldwide ‘One Book, One Community’ project. Its aim is to get Letterkenny reading. The book chosen for 2013 is Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl. Further details available in Central Library 074 9124950 or on the library website www.donegallibrary.ie
