Donegal County Council Language Scheme









Donegal County Council has begun to draw up a new draft scheme in accordance with Section 11 of the Official Languages Act 2003.  The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.


Donegal County Council now wishes to invite submissions in relation to the preparation of the draft scheme from any interested parties.  Submissions should ideally not exceed 4,000 words (c. 8 pages).  Submissions can be made in either official language, or both.  Preferrably, submissions, which will be made available on Donegal County Council’s website, should be forwarded electronically to

The latest date for receipt of submissions is 4.30pm on Friday, 10th March, 2017.
