Donegal County Council is holding a competition for the Best Kept Council Housing Schemes.
The competition will be run on a Municipal District basis and a substantial prize fund is available which will be awarded in the following categories according to merit:
In order to qualify, at least 20% of all dwellings in an estate must be in the ownership of the Council (minimum of 2 dwellings apply).
Consolation prizes will also be awarded in meritorious cases.
The Council reserves the right to re-allocate prize money should insufficient entries be received for any category. The prize money must be spent for a community purpose approved by the Council. Residents of housing schemes should consult together, and if interested, form a Residents’ Committee and submit an entry form signed on their behalf by two tenants of the Scheme.
The adjudication of entries will take place in July. Marks will be awarded under the following headings:
