Proposed Housing Development at Mulroy View, Tamney, Co. Donegal (Phase 2)

Donegal County Council proposes to cconstruct 10 no. 2 storey social housing units at Mulroy View , Tamney, Co. Donegal (Phase 2).

 

The proposed development will consist of the construction of 4no. 1 bedroom apartments, 2no. 2 bedroom housing units, 2no. 3 bedroom housing units and 2no. 4 bedroom housing units including all associated site development works.

 

In accordance with Article 120(1)(b)(i) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) Donegal County Council has concluded, based on a preliminary examination of the nature, size and location of the development, that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required.

 

The proposed development has undergone Appropriate Assessment Screening under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC), the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, and the European Communities (Bird and Natural Habitats) Regulations 2011-2015. Donegal County Council has determined that an Appropriate Assessment is not required as the proposed development, individually or in combination with other plans or projects, will not have a significant effect on a European Site. A copy of this determination, including the main reasons and considerations on which the determination was based, will be available for inspection.

Donegal County Council proposes to carry out the demolition of the former Fire Station and the construction of 3no. 2 storey 2-bedroom dwellings with new public footpath, off street parking and all associated site works at the Rock Road, Glenties, Co. Donegal.

Provision of Social Housing at Nas Mor, Letterkenny

Donegal County Council proposes to carry out alterations to reconfigure and renovate an existing apartment block currently consisting of 12 No 2 bed apartments, to provide 18 No social housing units consisting of 12 No 1 bed and 6 No 2 bed units. The proposed alterations will include the installation of a lift and all associated site works. The proposed redevelopment is located at Nas Mór (Block C), Carnamuggagh Upper, Letterkenny.

Proposed SI House at Largymore, Kilcar

Donegal County Council proposes to construct a 2-bed / 2 person single storey dwelling house including sewerage treatment plant and all associated site works at Largymore, Kilcar.  

 

In order to ascertain whether the proposed development required Appropriate Assessment (“AA”) the Council carried out a screening of same in accordance with Article 250(1) of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) and made a determination in view of best scientific knowledge that the development individually or in combination with other plans or projects would not be likely to have a significant effect on a European site in view of the site’s conservation objectives and that AA was not required.  A copy of this determination including the main reasons and considerations on which the determination was based is attached below.
