SI House

The term SI stands for Specific Instance and relates to one-off houses provided for people living in rural areas who would otherwise be unable to provide their own homes. The applicant must be able to provide free of charge to the Council a site/plot of land on which it is proposed to construct the house. All legal transfers must be completed before construction can commence.

Donegal County Council has received no Capital Allocation for any new builds in 2011 and indicators are that there are unlikely to be funds for new builds for the next four to five years.

Under such circumstances, no further processing or consideration of applications for SI dwellings is taking place.
