Donegal County Council has introduced a Sports Bursary whish invites applications in respect of all sports recognised by the Irish Sports Council and overseen by a national governing body.
- Applicants must have been born in or be domiciled in County Donegal.
- Applications must be supported by the applicants coach.
- Applications are welcome for all training in respect of sports including education and training for coaches.
- Applicants must be willing to provide some form of service back to the County in recognition of its sponsorship. This may take the form of participation in summer schemes.
- Applicants must be willing to acknowledge and recognise the contribution made by Donegal County Council to their development.
The following categories of funding apply:
- World Class / Olympics / International - where qualification applies
- Developmental
- Veterans
Eligible expenditure includes, Sports Physiotherapy, Nutritional Advice and Supplememntation, Life Style Management, Physiological Testing, Coaching, Travel to and from Competition / Coaching Events, Accommodation associated with Competition and Coaching Events, Competition Entry Fees, Specialist Individual Equipment, Specialist Individual Clothing, Other expenditure as may be deemed reasonable.
