For seventeen years the Earagail Arts Festival has been bringing music, visual art exhibitions, theatre, children's activities and outdoor events to the north of Donegal for two weeks in July, and this 18th year will be no different, with 90 events planned in 35 venues in 19 towns across the county from 10th - 23rd July.
A harvest of musicians from Scotland reverse the traditional summer migration. You'll find Eddi Reader, Julie Fowlis and The Peatbog Fairies, alongside legends June Tabor, Joanna MacGregor and Joyce. Stay in one place (Ramelton, Culdaff, Dunlewey, Falcarragh) for a series, or travel for county-wide diversity.
A packed visual arts programme explores themes of "Conflict and Resolution", taking William Orpen as its starting point, then expanding across several galleries. Reading Nights, Drawing Days, Party in the Park, singing, song-writing children's workshops and LORG Artists Trail all offer unique opportunities to get involved and meet new people. The extraordinary 'nofitstate' Circus, Smith and Wymore, Little John Nee, Puca Puppets and Fíbín have brought vibrant new shows for your entertainment. And there's more than we can fit into this page. Go on, get out there and enjoy yourself.
