Members Development Fund

The Development Fund (Members Allocation) is a small, but flexible source of funding provided to assist groups in the development of locally based community projects and group activities.

The Total Funding 2004 was €184,100 that is €6348.70 for each of the 29 members.

Each Elected Member allocates the monies on a discretionary basis. This can be on a stand-alone basis or in conjunction with other Elected Members in respect of a single initiative.

1. Eligilibity Criteria

Funding is aimed primarily at assisting a wide range of Community Projects, including projects in the areas of Sport and Recreation, Enterprise Development, Environmental Improvements, Tourism, Festivals, Heritage and Cultural Activities, etc.

2. Application Process

The current process of application is that interested parties make contact with the Elected Members of the Council requesting financial assistance from the fund at which point in time the Elected Member considers as to whether funding should or should not be provided. Queries to the Community & Enterprise Division regarding potential eligibility for specific initiatives will also result in their being advised of the existence of the Members Development Fund with an indication that they should make contact with the Elected Member. A schedule of the Elected Members and their contact numbers is given to potential applicants on request.
