The Research and Policy Unit in association with the Community Development Office in Donegal County Council have produced two directories of Community and Voluntary Groups in County Donegal:
The first is the 'Directory of Community and Voluntary Groups by Sectoral Remit 2010', which presents the contact details of Community and Voluntary Groups audited for the 23 sectors in County Donegal specifically Women, Men, Sports & Recreation, Community Development, Ex-Prisoners, Childcare & Play Groups, Housing & Residential Association, Refugees & Asylum Seekers, Heritage, Youth, Development, Travellers, Older People, Tourism, Festival, Environment, Disability, Culture, Religious, Enterprise, Rural Transport, Parish Council, Other.
The second is the 'Directory of Community and Voluntary Groups by Geographical Remit 2010', which presents the contact details of Community and Voluntary Groups audited by their respective Townland, Electoral Division and Electoral Area.
The purpose of both exercises is to:
- Provide useful up-to-date contact information on sectoral Community and Voluntary Groups to the general public
- Provide useful up-to-date contact information on Community and Voluntary Groups in each Townland, Electoral Division and Electoral Area
- Determine how well the needs of the population are being served both sectorally and geographically, through the provision of Community Infrastructure in County Donegal
- Increase access for all persons to Community and Voluntary Infrastructure in County Donegal.
It is proposed that the attached reports will be produced each quarter by the Research and Policy Unit, and will be placed on the Donegal County Council Website to highlight the level of community activity that is taking place both geographically and sectorally in County Donegal.
