In order to make a water connection or a sewer connection, it may be necessary to open the public roadway, footpath or verge.
You can apply for a road opening on the same application form as the water connection or sewer connection.
- Completed Application form should be returned to the relevant Area Council office.
- The Area Roads Engineer will report on the conditions and the fees payable for the road opening.
- A letter will be issued outlining the Council’s agreement in principle to the connection and to the road opening and will detail the fees & conditions involved.
- Fees should then be paid to your relevant Council office.
- Upon payment in full of the fees a letter of permission will issue, subject to conditions.
