Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024 from 9th February 2018 to 8th March 2018

 

Donegal County Council proposes to amend the Draft County Donegal Development Plan, 2018-2024 by making 40 Material Alterations

 

The Council has determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and an Appropriate Assessment (AA) of the proposed material alterations to the Draft Development Plan are required. Reports containing information on: (a.) the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the proposed material alterations (Strategic Environmental Assessment); and (b.) the likely significant impact of the proposed material alterations upon the Natura 2000 network of European Sites (Appropriate Assessment) have been prepared.

 

The Proposed Material Alterations; the Strategic Environmental Assessment Addendum to Part D: Environmental Report and the  Addendum to Appropriate Assessment (AA) Natura Impact Report can be viewed at the links below, and a further link is also provided to the background documents entitled: (i.) A copy of the Proposed Material Alterations; the Strategic Environmental Assessment Addendum to Part D: Environmental Report; the Addendum to Appropriate Assessment (AA) Natura Impact Report; and the Determinations that the assessments referred to at No. 2 and 3 above are required may be inspected and/or purchased for a fee of €10.00 during the period 9th February 2018 to 8th March 2018 at the following locations:

 

  • The Planning Office, Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford.
  • Letterkenny Public Services Centre, Neil T. Blaney Road, Letterkenny.
  • Milford Public Services Centre, Main St., Milford.
  • An Clochán Liath (Dungloe) Public Services Centre, Gweedore Road, An Clochán Liath.
  • Carndonagh Public Services Centre, Malin Road, Carndonagh.
  • Donegal Town Public Services Centre, Drumlonagher, Donegal Town.

 

Alternatively the abovementioned can be inspected at the Library facilities in the County during their respective normal opening hours.

Submissions or observations with respect to the Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft County Donegal Development Plan, 2018-2024 and associated reports may be made in writing between Friday 9th February 2018 to Thursday 8th March 2018 (both dates inclusive) to the Planning Authority at: The Central Planning Unit, Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford, Co. Donegal and marked “Material Alterations to Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024”  Submissions or observations may also be emailed to donegalcdp@donegalcoco.ie  Submissions made via email must include the full name and address of the person making the submission.  Submissions shall be taken into consideration before the making of the Plan.

 

Note: Please make your submission by one medium only i.e. hard copy or email.  The final date for the receipt of submissions is Thursday 8th March 2018.

 

Background Notes

At the adjourned meeting of Donegal County Council on 13th December 2017 and in accordance with section 12(5) of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended), the Members of Donegal County Council considered the Draft Plan and the Chief Executive’s Section 12(4) Report on submissions or observations made during the public consultation process, and decided to amend the Draft Plan. The amendments include a total of 40 proposed Material Alterations.

 

Pursuant to section 12(7)(aa) of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended), the Planning Authority determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) were required to be carried out as respects a number of specified proposed Material Alterations. In addition, and pursuant to Section 12(7)(ab) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), a period of 7 weeks was specified as being required to facilitate the aforementioned assessments after which time the proposed Material Alterations would be made available for inspection and consultation, and submissions and observations invited.
