Pre Planning Enquiry

The Planning and Development Act 2000 provides the facility for pre application consultations. Enquirers may make an appointment for a consultation at their local Public Service Centre . Planning clinics will be held at the times listed below to facilitate such consultations. 

Glenties E.A.: First Tuesday morning of every month

Milford E.A.: First Tuesday morning of every month

Inishowen E.A.: Last Wednesday morning of every month

Letterkenny E.A.: Last Wednesday afternoon of every month

Donegal E.A.: Second Tuesday morning of every month

Stranorlar E.A.: Third Tuesday morning of every month

Before making an appointment the following information must be submitted to the relevant Public Services Centre in writing

Application Form

General

  1. Name & address of applicant.
  2. Nature of proposed development.
  3. Location of proposed development [accurately identified by reference to an Ordnance Survey map]
  4. List of people anticipated to attend pre-planning consultation.

Checklist

  1. Have maps, layouts and photographs of proposal been presented. The location should be identified on an Ordnance Survey base.
  2. List the relevant details associated with the site (e.g. landscape classification; adjoining properties; archaeological item etc.).
  3. List the relevant policies/objectives of the development plan associated with the proposal (e.g. Rural Housing Policy, Multiple Housing with control points).
  4. List the applicants’/agents’ items for clarification in relation to the policies/objectives above (e.g. possible obtrusiveness, impact on privacy/overlooking adjoining property).

Enquirers are advised that information on many of the above elements of detail is available on-line by accessing the Gplan facility on the Council’s website at http://www.donegal.ie/dcc/gplan/  After consulting Gplan a prospective applicant may find there is no need to proceed with the consultation meeting. If a meeting is required the unique reference number provided by the Glpan system can be quoted in place of a lengthy submission. Where applicable, drawings should be provided in advance.

SITE VISITS ARE NOT CONDUCTED FOR PRE PLANNING QUERIES FOR SINGLE HOUSES.

PRE PLANNING CONSULTATIONS ARE NOT PROVIDED WHERE A SITE IS UP FOR AUCTION BUT INDIVIDUALS CAN USE G PLAN.
