Provision has been made under the Electoral Acts for the preparation of the Postal Voters and Special Voters lists in respect of particular categories of voters.

You may apply for entry in the Special Voters list if you are living in a nursing home or similar institution and are unable due to physical disability to attend at a polling station to vote.
The closing date for receipt of completed application forms for inclusion in the Postal and Special voters lists shall be 22 days (disregarding any excluded day) before polling day, in the case of a Presidential, European or Local Election or a Referendum.
The closing date for receipt of completed application forms for inclusion in the Postal and Special voters list for a General Election will be two days after the dissolution of the Dáil (or two days after the making of an order appointing polling day at a Dáil bye-election). Completed application forms should be returned to Donegal County Council.
