There are currently 1491 bridge structures registered on Donegal County Council’s bridge database. These structures can range from small stone arch culverts to the Gweebarra Bay Bridge, currently Donegal's longest divning bridge.
116 of Donegal’s bridge structures are located on National routes and are managed by the National Roads Authority through the Eirdiv Bridge Management System. Since the introduction of Eirdiv in 2002 all National Road bridges have been inspected and a programme of bridge rehabilitation and routine maintenance has commenced.
