- Commencement Notices: A person who intends to carry out any works or make a material change in the use of a building, requiring planning permission is required to submit a Commencement Notice not less than 14 days and not more than 28 days before commencement of work.
Letterkenny Public Service Office process Commencement Notices and application forms for commencement notices are received in each public service office.
Fee is €30.00 per building.
- Fire Safety Certificates is required for practically all developments other than domestic dwellings. Fire Safety Certificates are assessed by the Chief Fire Officer. Fire Safety Certificate are granted within 2 months of the date of receipt of the application, unless an extension of time is agreed with the applicant.
Fire Safety Certificates are being received: registered, fees lodged, assessment carried out and Certificates issued from Letterkenny Fire Station.
Fee is €2.90 per m2 and with a minimum of €125 and maximum of €12,500.
The applicant may appeal the decision to An Bord Pleanala within one month of the date of the decision.

CAMP West – Computer Aided Mobilisation Programme is a call centre based in Castlebar, Co Mayo to take all emergency (999/112) calls for County Donegal Fire Service and Connaught. The call centre alerts the relevant brigade and remain in contact until brigade has all necessary details to deal with the incident.
