There are 64 Bring Banks sites located throughout County Donegal where you can bring you Glass (Brown, Clear, Green) Food and Beverage Cans.
Correct Use of Bring Banks
Donegal County Council have in operation 63 recycling bring banks around the County. When using the facilities we would ask members of the public to be aware of the following:
- Aerosol Cans can now be placed in the can banks, just remove the plastic lid.
- Both Aluminium (drinks) and Metal Cans (food) are accepted at the facilities. We would advise householders to wash out the cans before depositing them and please remove any labels.
- Duvets, pillows or cushions are not accepted in the Textile Banks.
- Bring home any plastic bags and boxes you have to transport the recyclables. We wish to keep the facilities litter free .
- Only glass bottles and jars are accepted at the glass recycling banks. Old cups, plates and pottery are not acceptable and will contaminate the glass load.
- The deposit of general household waste is prohibited at these sites. Anyone found illegally disposing of waste will be prosecuted under the Litter Pollution Act 1997 and may receive a fine of €150.
