     Donegal County Council Veterinary Service provides a statutory advisory and
    administrative role at Local Government level on matters related to veterinary public
    health, responsible animal ownership and responsible animal management.
    Veterinary Service works on matters directly related to:
    • Food Safety
    • Active /Passive Surveillance
    • Zoonotic Disease Prevention/Control
    • Environmental risk assessment
    • Planning and development
    • Waste disposal and waste treatment
    • Animal welfare
    The role of the Veterinary Section in promoting responsible animal ownership and in
    the enforcement of animal control legislation is important in the context of improving
    people’s living and working environment.
