WIFI Access in County Donegal Libraries

WIFI Access in County Donegal Libraries

WIFI access will be provided in some of Donegal's libraries from late October 2010. Internet connectivity in Letterkenny, Carndonagh, Ballybofey and Bundoran libraries will be upgraded to higher speeds to facilitate the anticipated increase in data traffic. Library members can then use their own laptops in libraries and can access the internet from their mobile phones and other devices such as PDAs etc Communications lines will be upgraded in Gaoth Dobhair (when reinstated), Raphoe and Moville libraries which will improve front desk processing tasks for users and staff of these libraries. Donegal County Council has recently been granted funding of €15,268 under the 2010 Public Libraries Access and Services Improvements Support Scheme, and will add to this sum to put the planned upgrades in place.
