Colmcille 1500 is a year-long commemoration marking the 1500th anniversary of the birth of Colmcille. Donegal County Council and Derry City & Strabane District Council are co-ordinating a programme for the year which is being supported by key partners including the North West Development Fund, in conjunction with and supported by The Executive Office and The Irish Government.
The programme for the year includes a range of projects, events and activities, as well as a small grants scheme to provide opportunities for local communities to engage in the commemorations. Grants of €2,000 or £1,800 are available to support specific Colmcille activities that contribute to the commemorations or deliver recommendations of the Audit of Columban Heritage.

Mar pháirt de chlár na bliana beidh réimse tionscadal, imeachtaí agus gníomhaíochtaí, chomh maith le scéim bheag deontais chun deiseanna a thabhairt do phobail áitiúla páirt a ghlacadh san chomóradh. Tá deontais de
€ 2,000 nó £ 1,800 ar fáil chun tacú le gníomhaíochtaí Colmcille ar leith a chuireann leis na cuimhneacháin nó a chuireann moltaí chun tosaigh ar Iniúchadh ar Oidhreacht Chultúrtha Columban.
