24/09/2015 - Laureate na nÓg and children’s author Eoin Colfer to launch Wainfest 2015

Laureate na nÓg and children’s author Eoin Colfer

Wainfest 2015 will be launched by Laureate na nÓg and children’s author Eoin Colfer on today at 6pm in Glenveagh Castle.

Wainfest is Donegal County Council’s Cultural Services Arts and Book Festival for children and young people and will take place between October 10-17 and promises to deliver the biggest ever line up of quality events and performers.

This is the 19th year of the festival and there will be over 100 attractions including 21 authors, storytellers, artists, designers and scientists as well as library monster parties and a wonderful family fun day packed into one week.

The Wainfest launch will coincide with the Laureate na n-Óg’s Once Upon a Place Tour - an inspirational event which brings stories to fantastic places for children and their families.

This event focuses on fantastic places: extraordinary settings in which to stage very special and memorable storytelling events that will spark children’s imaginations and bring the magic of story and of books to young people in an experiential way and where better than Glenveagh Castle to provide such an iconic and atmospheric setting.

During this event, Eoin Colfer and his team of professional storytellers aim to captivate the imaginations of children and their families through the power of words.

Immediately after this event, Eoin and his team will launch Wainfest 2015.

To book your place contact Karen Sheehy in Central Library, Letterkenny at (074) 9124950.
