Public Notice - Homecoming Event for the Donegal Senior Football Team

Donegal County Council in conjunction with the Four Masters GAA and the Donegal County Board wish to announce that a homecoming event has been arranged for the Donegal Senior Football Team after the All - Ireland Senior Football final.

The homecoming event will take place at the Pier Carpark in Donegal Town on Monday 28th July 2025.

To facilitate this event, we wish to advise all members of the public of the following:

  • The Pier car park will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 18:00pm on Sunday from 27th July 2025 to 1:00am on Tuesday 29th July 2025.
  • On-street parking on Quay Street will not be permitted from 8:00am on Monday 28th July 2025 to 1:00am on Tuesday 29th July 2025.
  • The areas outlined in red on the map below detail the extent areas that will be closed to vehicular traffic to facilitate the event.
  • Local access for deliveries to the back of the hotels etc will be facilitated.

Donegal County Council pays tribute to former County Manager Michael McLoone

Donegal County Council is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former County Manager, Michael McLoone. Mr. McLoone served as County Manager from 1994 until his retirement in 2010. He was a dedicated and passionate leader who made a lasting impact on our county. While many important capital projects were delivered during his tenure with the Council, he will most notably be remembered for a remarkable transformation in local government in the county with the decentralisation of offices.

Donegal County Council publishes 2025 Gender Pay Gap Report

Donegal County Council has today published its Gender Pay Gap Report, highlighting the percentage difference between what men and women are paid on average in the organisation, irrespective of roles or levels.

Cash Office 9am-12.30pm, and 1pm-4.00pm (Monday to Friday)
