PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001 (as amended)
ARTICLE 81

NOTICE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 81, PART 8 OF THE ABOVE REGULATIONS, RELATING TO A PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT BY DONEGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

Donegal County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out the development of improved pedestrian facilities along the section of the R232 from Pettigo Town to Scoil Mhuire National School, Pettigo in the Donegal Municipal District.

The proposed footway, measuring approximately 400m in length, will be located in the townlands of Pettigoe and Billary and will introduce both new and improved footway along the R232 from St. Mary’s Catholic Church to Scoil Mhuire National School. The proposal will utilise the existing verge as much as possible with some land acquisition. The new footway linkage seeks to provide a safe, high quality mobility infrastructure that is accessible, age friendly and maximise comfort to people of all ages and abilities. The project will include the reallocation of overall road space which will include widened footpaths to provide a safer, calmer and more attractive route to Scoil Mhuire National School.

In accordance with the Planning and Development Regulations, Donegal County Council, as a competent authority, has concluded from a Screening Determination, based on an examination of the type, size and nature of the proposed development that there is no likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and as such has determined that an EIA is not required, the details of which are available to the general public.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection (or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy) during normal hours from 9am on Thursday, 9th June 2022 until 4pm on Tuesday, 19th July 2022 (inclusive) online and at the following location:
