16/05/18 Growing Letterkenny - Planning for Growth

Letterkenny Chamber in partnership with Donegal County Council invites you, as an important business stakeholder and citizen, to take part in consultation workshops to inform the preparation of a Plan for Letterkenny.

The ambition within which the Plan for Letterkenny is being prepared is that the town will grow its population to +35,000 people and it will offer all the ingredients of a future city including employment, housing choice, high quality of life, a vibrant town centre, community and social amenities and positive public and civic space.

This project is a County wide and regionally significant piece of work. It is reinforced by the identification of Letterkenny as a regional centre in the Government’s National Planning Framework and it will recognise the strategic role of Letterkenny as part of the North West City Region.

The Plan will contain a suite of policies and objectives supported by land use zoning that will guide the development of Letterkenny. It will also identify and prioritise the essential infrastructure and investment needed to support the planned growth.

Your participation is essential in order to co-produce this project to grow Letterkenny. Therefore, register your interest by emailing [email protected] for two workshops as follows to be held in local venues in Letterkenny (TBC):

Tuesday 22nd May 2018 at 6pm - Introductory workshop addressing the broad issues across the entire plan area

Tuesday 29th May 2018 at 6pm - Town centre focused

Wed 6 June 2018 at 7pm, Radisson Blu Letterkenny - Focusing on Community, social and cultural sector.
