22/04/2022 - Global Irish Festival Series

Minister Colm Brophy, Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr Jack Murray, Director of Economic Development Mr. Garry Martin and members of the Donegal Association of New York.

The Global Irish Festival Series was re-launched at the Irish Consulate in New York on Wednesday evening by Ireland's Minister of State for Overseas Development Aid and Diaspora, TD Colm Brophy. The series aims to encourage the Irish diaspora to return home to visit Ireland and provides funding and support, through Local Authorities, for events that tap into international diaspora networks.

This year, the series is being expanded with events taking place along the Wild Atlantic Way in Mayo, Donegal, Limerick, and Kerry.

Minister Colm Brophy, Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr Jack Murray, Ciara Sugrue, Head of Festival & Events, Failte Ireland, Deputy Consul General, Seán Ó hAodha, Alison Metcalfe, Executive Vice President, Tourism Ireland & Garry Martin, Director of Economic Development, Donegal County Council

The series places Ireland’s counties at the centre of an effort to connect with their diasporas, and to build new relationships and ties that can boost tourism opportunities in each area.
