Books of condolence open in Donegal for the victims of the Carrickmines fire

Books of condolence will be opened in the County House, Lifford and in each of the Public Service Centres throughout Donegal for the victims of the Carrickmines fire today, Tuesday 13th October.

 

Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council Cllr. Ciaran Brogan has signed the book of condolence at the Donegal Travellers Project in Letterkenny and books will open today at each of the Council Offices throughout the county.

 

Cllr. Brogan said: “I wish to convey my heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of the 10 people who died in the fire at Carrickmines on Saturday morning.  This devastating news has had a major impact on everyone throughout the country and we are all shocked and saddened by this most dreadful tragedy”.

 

Books will be available for members of the public to pay their respects for the rest of the week.  Offices will be open from 9am until 5pm, Tuesday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm on Friday, closed for lunch from 12.30pm to 1pm each day.
