CLÁR 2025

Donegal County Council are now seeking Expressions of Interest from community groups for Measure 1 in relation to project proposals they are seeking to progress within their communities.
 
CLÁR (Ceantair Laga Árd-Riachtanais) is a targeted investment programme for rural areas that aims to provide funding for small infrastructural projects in rural areas that have experienced significant levels of de-population.
 
The CLÁR Funding Scheme 2025 will be delivered under three separate Measures as follows:
 
Measure 1 - Developing Community Facilities & Amenities

Measure 2 - Mobility, Cancer Care, Community First Responders and Meals on Wheels Transport.

Measure 3 - ‘Our Living Islands’
 
 
Measure 1 is administered by Local Authorities in consultation with local communities, will support a variety of capital projects that contribute to the enhancement of existing, and/or the development of new, accessible Community Recreation Facilities.
 
All community amenities funded under this programme must, in so far as practicable, be accessible to all abilities and ages.

Closing Date for receipt of Expressions of Interest is 12 noon on Wednesday 14th May 2025

Measure 2 and Measure 3 are administered directly by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Gaeltacht. Details of the Scheme Outline and Application Forms in relation to Measure 2 and Measure 3 are available on the CLÁR page of the Department’s website.

There are 5 Community Development Officers, one in every Municipal District across the County. The CDO’s are based in the Public Services Centre in each District.

Donegal Launches ‘Diversity in Decision Making’ Project

Donegal Travellers Project, in partnership with Donegal County Council’s PEACEPLUS Partnership, has officially launched a new cross-community initiative under the theme Celebrating Cultural Diversity. The ‘Diversity in Decision Making’ project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), and is funded through Donegal County Council’s PEACEPLUS Local Co-Designed Action Plan.

Greencastle – Magilligan (Foyle) and Buncrana – Rathmullan (Swilly) Ferry Services 2025 Season

Donegal County Council are delighted to announce that the Lough Foyle ferry service linking Greencastle and Magilligan and the Swilly Ferry service linking Buncrana and Rathmullan will operate a full service from 30th May 2025.

Opening Times

Motor Taxation 9.15am to 12.15pm, and 1.15pm to 3pm (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Cash Office 9am-12.30pm, and 1pm-4.00pm (Monday to Friday)

Other Services 9am-12.30pm, and 1pm-4.30pm (Monday to Friday)
