Offset your BER costs with this ‘€250 Introductory Offer’ from NWEA

The ‘North West Energy Agency’ (NWEA) was established by Donegal County Council in conjunction with the LEAP Project, to support homeowners, businesses and communities to implement energy efficiency improvements throughout Donegal.
The NWEA will help with the following, with the initial focus on domestic properties:

  • Retrofit of buildings (domestic and non-domestic);
  • Renewable heating systems (domestic and non-domestic);
  • Solar PV (domestic and non-domestic);
  • Funding options including SEAI grants, low interest loans and how these Energy efficiency improvements could be delivered.

To celebrate this new service offering for homeowners throughout Donegal, the NWEA are offering the following discount for year 2025

STAGE 1 – Expression of Interest 
Simply respond by scanning the QR code, complete and submit the expression of interest form

STAGE 2 - Home Energy Assessment / Building Energy Rating (BER) 
The NWEA can direct you to SEAI registered Assessors who will complete a BER for your property

STAGE 3 – Customised plan for your home upgrade 
The BER will allow NWEA to work with home owners then to customise a home energy upgrade that is right for you and your budget.

STAGE 4 – Home Upgrade Works 
For homeowners who continue then and sign up for NWEA to deliver the home upgrade service, can avail of the following;

  • €250 discount - from the cost of BER / Home Energy Assessment, PLUS
  • €350 Grant - from SEAI towards the cost of the BER

Donegal’s stunning coastline shines once again!

Donegal County Council once again welcomes the announcement that the county has the second highest tally of Blue Flag beaches in the country with Donegal and Kerry local authorities awarded the most Blue Flags for 2025 with 14 for each county.
