Spring into Storytime 2026

Donegal County Library service is delighted to bring you a wonderful Spring into Storytime programme of storytelling and family friendly events this April. This annual library programme is designed to encourage young children to develop a love for reading and it celebrates the importance of families reading together and sharing stories.

Spring into Storytime is delivered in all libraries and online across the county during the month of April with storytimes in the libraries for preschool and primary school aged children. This event is part of the Right to Read initiative which is a national programme promoting literacy and reading development for people of all ages and backgrounds.

The 2026 programme includes craft workshops, author visits, LEGO workshops, storytelling workshops and lots more. Donegal libraries will be championing children’s story time sessions and are inviting children and parents/carers to join in and experience the joy of reading. As well as the enjoyment of the storytime sessions, stories and reading also help children to further develop their own creativity and imagination while supporting their concentration and communication skills.

The information and schedule for all the events can be found on our library website www.donegallibrary.ie ‘What’s on’  or you can follow Donegal County Library on Facebook
