Members Development Fund
Members Development Fund – What It Is and How It Works
What is the Members Development Fund?
The Members Development Fund (MDF) is part of Donegal County Council’s Development Funds Initiative, administered under the Community Development Division.
It provides a small but flexible source of funding to support:
- Locally based community projects
- Group activities that benefit the community
Each year, funding is allocated to the initiative and is then distributed among the 37 Elected Members of Donegal County Council.
How can a group access this funding?
- Contact an Elected Member
Community groups seeking financial assistance should contact one or more of the Elected Members of Donegal County Council.
Each Member allocates their portion of the fund at their discretion. - Allocation Instruction submitted
The Elected Member completes an Allocation Instruction and submits it to the Community Development Division.
Allocations may be: - Made individually by one Member, or
- Joint allocations involving multiple Members for the same project.
- Group receives an email including a Drawdown Form
After receiving the Allocation Instruction, the Community Development Division will email a Drawdown Form to the group, confirming the allocation. - Return completed Drawdown Form and any other documentation requested.
The group must return the completed form, etc.. either by email or post to:
