Public Lights and Minor Infrastructure Scheme

A Public Lights and Minor Infrastructure Fund has been provided for in the 2026 Revenue Budget. This provision will fund a scheme that will allow Elected Members to allocate funding to public lights and minor public infrastructure improvements, primarily on public roads and in housing estates

N.B Projects to be within speed limits unless for a specific public benefit outside speed limits

1. The provision of public lighting (proposals will have regard to the Council’s obligation under Climate Change protocols and its commitment to the proper use of energy)                                                                      
2. Minor road improvements which will be limited to the installation of kerbing, footpaths, drainage gullies, drainage pipes together with any ancillary works necessary to construct these items                             
3. Works along public roads, in public housing estates, parks and/or in public car parks                                   
4. Electric vehicle charging points (when the details and specifications are known)
