Letterkenny Rovers honoured at Mayor’s Reception

The members of the Letterkenny / Milford Municipal District were delighted to confer a Mayor’s Reception in honour of Letterkenny Rovers held at the Public Services Centre, Letterkenny last Thursday.

The award is in recognition of the clubs outstanding contribution to local sports. It has been an outstanding year for the club with notable highlights including being crowned Donegal League Premier Division Champions, Ulster Junior Cup Champions and Women’s 7-Aside Winter League Champions.

The Club’s success across age and gender reflects the Club’s ethos to actively promote, include and develop all those who play for the club.

Eamonn McConigley (chairman) and Stephen McConnell (senior team manager) accepted the award on the Club’s behalf and thanked the players and volunteers who tirelessly devote their free time to promote and run the club.

Cllr Ciaran Brogan, Mayor congratulated the Club on their success and acknowledged the important role that the Club plays in developing and encouraging sport among the young people in the community.

Donegal County Council pays tribute to former County Manager Michael McLoone

Donegal County Council is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former County Manager, Michael McLoone. Mr. McLoone served as County Manager from 1994 until his retirement in 2010. He was a dedicated and passionate leader who made a lasting impact on our county. While many important capital projects were delivered during his tenure with the Council, he will most notably be remembered for a remarkable transformation in local government in the county with the decentralisation of offices.

Donegal County Council publishes 2025 Gender Pay Gap Report

Donegal County Council has today published its Gender Pay Gap Report, highlighting the percentage difference between what men and women are paid on average in the organisation, irrespective of roles or levels.
