European Movement Ireland to visit the Central Library

Central Library Letterkenny are hosting a free 'EU Unfiltered' Roundtable workshop with European Movement Ireland on Thursday 26th March at 6.30pm.
Chris Mitchell, Senior Engagement Officer at European Movement Ireland said, “As part of European Movement Ireland's public engagement programme this year, a series of roundtables are being organised across the country to gauge public opinion on key EU topics, including the EU–Mercosur agreement. These sessions are designed to map public sentiment while ensuring the conversation reflects a wide range of perspectives. The first session, EU Unfiltered, will take place at Europe Direct Letterkenny on Thursday 26th March.
The event will bring participants together in an informal setting to have an open dialogue on the EU-Mercosur agreement. With growing attention on how misinformation and disinformation can shape public understanding of EU developments, the discussion will also explore how narratives around Mercosur show up online and how citizens can better navigate them. Insights from engaged participants will help highlight what changes people want to see from policymakers and how communication around EU decisions can improve in the future.
Promoting the benefits of EU membership is a corner stone objective for the European Commission. Europe Direct Letterkenny is located in the Central Library. We also provide EU information in the Irish language in Leabharlann Phobail Gaoth Dobhair. Our range of services include:
  • Information and Access to publications and brochures from EU institutions
  • Information about the Erasmus+ and Discover EU travel opportunities for young people.
  • Access to PCs to search for EU material.
  • A freephone link to the Europe Direct Helpdesk
  • Events, talks, exhibitions, and competitions.
To book this free event please email eudirect@donegallibrary.ie  or telephone Central Library on 074 91 24950.
