Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for Donegal which takes effect from 6am tomorrow Thursday and will remain in effect until 8pm on Thursday evening. Impacts include widespread rain, which is expected to become heavy at times, leasing to the possibility of localised flooding and difficult driving conditions.

The European Flood Awareness System (EFAS) has also issued a Flash Flooding warning for the Border region in the following river systems: Glen, Eany, Eske, Owenea, Owentocker, Gweebarra, Crolly & Reelin.

The flood probability % is included in the attached image.

The second warning, a status yellow wind warning, was issued for all counties of Ireland.

The status yellow wind warning, which comes as a result of Storm Amy, will take effect from midnight on Thursday and will remain in place until midnight on Friday.

Storm Amy will see strong to near gale force and gusty southwesterly winds, with impacts including difficult travelling conditions, the displacement of debris and loose objects, and the possibility of fallen trees.  Trees are still in leaf at this time of the year, so there could be higher impacts from fallen trees and leaves blocking drains, causing localised flooding.

Additionally, a small craft warning for all coasts of Ireland and a status yellow gale warning for all coasts of Ireland and on the Irish Sea will also take effect because of Storm Amy.

The small craft warning will take effect from 9am on Thursday, remaining in place until 9am on Friday, with southerly winds veering westerly reaching force 6 or higher expected.

A status orange marine warning will take effect from 3pm Friday until midnight with southerly winds reaching storm force 10 at times.
