Cllr Martin Harley, Cathaoirleach, Lifford/Stranorlar MD, officially opened the recently completed Drumboe Walkway, Stranorlar on Monday last.

This walkway restores the traditional link between Drumboe Lower and Drumboe Woods which has been closed for some time.

The works on the walkway were funded through the Minor Tourism Works Grant Scheme and Donegal County Council’s own resources.

The Community Development Division of the Council would like to acknowledge the support and co-operation of Donegal ETB and Coillte in getting the project to completion. Coillte engaged the services of North West Forest Services, Knock, Ballybofey to carry out some tree surgery works on their land while the Council engaged the services of H. Harkin Plant Hire Ltd., Carick, Derrybeg, to carry out the site clearance and surfacing works on the walkway,

Opening the path, Cllr Harley expressed his delight at the completion of the project and said that this path would be an asset to local residents and the entire community.

One Donegal - Social Inclusion Week 2026 Launch

Visit of Minister Dara Calleary to Donegal

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary visited Donegal on Monday, 23rd March 2026, to perform two official openings of projects in the County.

Motor Taxation 9.15am to 12.15pm, and 1.15pm to 3pm (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Cash Office 9am-12.30pm, and 1pm-4.00pm (Monday to Friday)

Other Services 9am-12.30pm, and 1pm-4.30pm (Monday to Friday)
