Archives of the Gaelic Athletic Association County Board 

Please find link here to this publication which gives a short history of the GAA in Ireland and in Donegal, and lists the archives held by Donegal County Archives, which were donated to Donegal County Archives by the County Board of the GAA and listed. Archives are available for viewing at the Archives research room in Lifford, by prior appointment.

The Archives Service has produced a series of education packs based on local sources. These packs are ideal for study in a classroom setting for both older primary students and second level students of history, and their teachers.   The packs which could assist leaving students’ Research study or Documents based study.

Buncrana Urban District/Town Council - A Short History

 

BUNCRANA URBAN DISTRICT/TOWN COUNCIL: A SHORT HISTORY

 

Donegal County Archives has produced a short history of the earlier years of Buncrana Urban District (later Town) Council to celebrate its centenary in 2014, and also to mark its demise this year as a local authority.

 

Earlier this year Donegal County Library and Museum, in association with the Archives, had exhibitions to mark the histories of Letterkenny and Bundoran Town Councils.

 

A pdf of the Buncrana booklet is now available on this website, and hard copies are available on request from the Archivist.

The booklet was researched and written by Niamh Brennan, archivist.
