Developing our Tourism Product


Donegal County Council delivers a number of schemes supporting the development of the tourism sector in Donegal.



Outdoor Seating & Accessories for Tourism & Hospitality Business Scheme


This scheme provides financial support to tourism and hospitality businesses, in our town centres, to purchase or upgrade equipment to provide additional outdoor seating and, therefore, increase their outdoor dining capacity for the summer of 2021. 


This scheme is currently open.  



Donegal Local Live Performance Programming Support Scheme (LLPPSS) 2021


Donegal County Council invites applications from experienced Producer/Promoters, Venues, Festival Organisers or Artists Groups for support towards the presentation of ambitious Live Performance Events, in each of the county’s five Municipal Districts, in August and September.


This project is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media through Live Performance Support Scheme 2021.


This scheme is curently open.



Donegal Caravan & Camping Survey


You are invited to have your say on caravan, campervan and camping in Donegal by taking part in a survey which is being conducted by as part of a study being commissioned by the Council and being undertaken by KPMG Future Analytics.

Minor Tourism Related Works Grant Scheme 2021


Donegal County Council is inviting community groups to apply for funding under the Minor Tourism Related Works Grant Scheme.  This scheme will fund works that will enhance tourism product offering in various locations in the county including for example signage, improved access to popular visitor sites and attractions such as waterfalls, heritage sites, scenic spots, picnic areas, beaches etc.

North West Tourism Product Development Programme  

This scheme aims to help Tourism & Hospitality businesses in the Donegal, Derry City and Strabane Council Regions to develop strong product offerings that will enhance the visitor experiences. Supports include one to one and group mentoring opportunities and business development workshops. A grant of €2,500 is available to participating businesses for items or services that will help them to re-open, develop new products or take advantage of new opportunities.
