Developing our Tourism Product


Donegal County Council delivers a number of schemes supporting the development of the tourism sector in Donegal.

Bundoran – Oceanside Seating experience project at Westend Car Park

The Council’s Economic Development Section is responsible for the promotion of tourism and business activities within the County. This project will support business as they adapt to the transition to outdoor hospitality and leisure activities.

Donegal County Council proposes to carry out the following works:

  • Construction of a new covered outdoor seating area with cultural performance area & storage; and
  • All associated ancillary works to include alterations to existing car park, enhancements to public lighting, drainage and utilities, connection to services, landscaping, development related signage & public art within the overall development.

 All associated ancillary site works shall be located within the townland of Magheracar, Bundoran in the Donegal Municipal District.


Donegal Local Live Performance Programming Support Scheme (LLPPSS) 2022 

Phase 4


Donegal County Council now invites applications from experienced Producer/Promoters; Festival Organisers; Town and Village, Tourism and Community Representative Groups; Venues; Artists or Artists Groups for support towards the presentation of Live Performance Events, happening in the County, between 1st July and  31st October, 2022.


This project is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media through Live Performance Support Scheme 2022.

**Now Closed**Minor Tourism Related Works Grant Scheme 2022 

Donegal County Council is inviting community groups to apply for funding under the Minor Tourism Related Works Grant Scheme 2022. This scheme will fund works that will enhance tourism product offering in various locations in the county including for example signage, improved access to popular visitor sites and attractions such as waterfalls, heritage sites, historic graveyards*, scenic spots, picnic areas, beaches etc.



Application Deadline – all applications to be submitted to [email protected] by 4pm on Monday 6th June 2022.





 Donegal Regional Festivals and Participative Events Funding 2022


Donegal County Council is inviting applications for funding under the Regional Festivals & Participative Events Programme.  This Programme aims to support festivals and participative events that will drive domestic tourism and help to improve the visitor experience.

**NOW CLOSED** Caravan, Camping, Campervan and Motorhome Facilities Grant Scheme 2022 

As a result of recommendtions set out in the KPMG Future Analytics Report into the Caravan and camping sector in Donegal , Donegal County Council will now provide financial support via the Caravan, Camping, Campervan and Motorhome Facilities Grant Scheme 2022 for businesses to increase the number of overnight accommodation facilities for this sector in locations currently underserved in the county.
