Strategic Strengths and Future Strategic Direction of Buncrana
In recognition of the strategic importance of Buncrana in terms of its size (being the second highest populated town in the County), its location close to Derry City, and as the key gateway to north Inishowen, the Council in 2020 commissioned a focused report on these strategic functions of the town and how they might be most appropriately harnessed in the future for the benefit of the town. Local Area Plan
The above -noted report will be beneficial in informing a new Local Area Plan for Buncrana and also in the consideration of other key decisions for the town. Some preliminary work has already been undertaken on the new Local Area Plan and it is anticipated that this work will be accelerated in Q3 and Q4, 2021.
